Letter: H
Higher Rate Tax: Until the year 2009/10 this was the highest rate of tax payable by individuals in the UK - 40%. Since 6 April 2010 there is a new rate of tax which is even higher, it is called Additional rate and is currently 50%.
Homeworker employee: Tax relief is available to cover reasonable additional household expenses where the duties carried out at home are central duties of the employment and it is a requirement of the duties that the work is carried out at home and nowhere else.
